On 28 March 2024, the Oratorium Marianum at the University of Wrocław hosted the presentation of a report titled ‘Model współpracy Miasta Wrocław z organizacjami pozarządowymi w okresie 2004-2024. W kierunku europeizacji standardów współzarządzania’ (eng. The Model of Cooperation Between the City of Wrocław and Non-Governmental Organizations in 2004–2024: Towards the Europeanization of Co-Governance Standards). The event brought together representatives from Wrocław’s local government, NGOs, and the academic community.

‘Krajobraz po powodzi’ (eng. Landscape after the flood) is the title of the seventeenth episode of the podcast Fantastyczny Dolny Śląsk, whose guest was dr Marek Kasprzak, prof. UWr from the Department of Geomorphology of the Institute of Geography and Regional Studies at the University of Wrocław. During the conversation, prof. Kasprzak discussed the causes, effects and prevention of flooding. We encourage you to listen!

Until Monday 31 March, the Rector’s Office of the University of Wrocław is accepting applications for the Wrocław Freedom badge of honour.

Dr Michał Halicki and prof. Tomasz Niedzielski from the Department of Geoinformatics and Cartography at the Institute of Geography and Regional Development at the University of Wrocław developed the AltHydro system, which presents innovative water level predictions for the Oder River!

The next edition of the Wrocławska Magnolia Competition has started!

An article summarising the results of palaeoenvironmental studies carried out in the Jizera Mountains was published in the Catena journal (IF 5.4, 140 points MNiSW). It is devoted to sediments filling the bottoms of river valleys. This made it possible to reconstruct the Holocene environmental changes in the upland areas of the Jizera Mountains, comprehensively supplementing the data from the research on local peat bogs.
