UL: Cooperation

On May 24th, the opening of the photo exhibition titled “Little Essen: A Polish-German Place of (Non-)Memory” by Prof. Krzysztof Ruchniewicz will take place at the Ravensbrück Memorial Site. The pretext for organizing the exhibition is the meeting of the Polish-German Textbook Commission, established under the auspices of the UNESCO commissions in Poland and Germany in 1972. The organizers of the exhibition are: the Leibniz Institute for Educational Media, the Georg Eckert Institute, the Willy Brandt Center for German and European Studies at the University of Wrocław, the University of Wrocław itself, and DAAD.

The UWr team composed of: Krzysztof Boryczka, Antoni Buraczewski, Łukasz Pluta, ranked 5th and won the bronze medal in the first ever European Team Programming Championships!

On October 10, 2023, in the Senate Room of the University of Wrocław, an agreement was signed between Wrocław and Opole universities and the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management, the National Energy Conservation Agency and the Bank Ochrony Środowiska [Bank for Environmental Protection]. The agreement concerns the development of a pilot nationwide model for the energy transformation of university operations.

We wtorek, 12 marca 2024 r., odbyło się robocze spotkanie przedstawicieli Uniwersytetu Wrocławskiego i Southern Illinois University (USA) w sprawie rozwoju współpracy badawczej i dydaktycznej w oparciu o podpisaną umowę bilateralną. Kooperacja została zainicjowana przed dwoma laty dzięki wsparciu Dolnośląskiego Urzędu Marszałkowskiego.

Pozytywnie dla Uniwersytetu Wrocławskiego zakończyła się niedawno przeprowadzona śródokresowa ewaluacja realizacji planów podniesienia poziomu jakości działalności naukowej i kształcenia przez uczelnie uczestniczące w I edycji programu „Inicjatywa doskonałości – uczelnia badawcza” (IDUB).

On 19-20 February 2024, a scientific conference entitled ‘Deutschland und Polen: schwierige Geschichte, aktuelle Herausforderungen, gemeinsame Zukunft’ (Germany and Poland: difficult history, current challenges, common future) was held at the Consulate General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Wrocław and the UWr Institute for International and Security Studies.

W ubiegłym tygodniu Wydziale Chemii odbyła się IV Konferencja dla Nauczycieli Chemii, zorganizowana we współpracy z Okręgową komisją Egzaminacyjną we Wrocławiu. Konferencja miała zasięg ogólnopolski, oprócz nauczycieli ze szkół z Dolnego Śląska uczestniczyli w niej nauczyciele z woj. opolskiego, małopolskiego, śląskiego, w sumie 130 nauczycieli.

16 lutego 2024 r. na UWr list intencyjny między Ośrodkiem „Pamięć i Przyszłość” prowadzącym Centrum Historii Zajezdnia a Uniwersytetem Wrocławskim podpisali Rektor UWr prof. Robert Olkiewicz i dr hab. Wojciech Kucharski, z-ca dyrektora ds. naukowych Ośrodka.

Biuro Współpracy Międzynarodowej Uniwersytetu Wrocławskiego, podobnie jak w poprzednich latach, zorganizowało Welcome Ceremony dla studentów międzynarodowych rozpoczynających swoje studia na naszej Uczelni w semestrze letnim w ramach programów wymiany.

Molecular knots and links. While these objects are primarily of interest in mathematical knot theory, they have also captivated chemists, who designed and synthesised many molecules of nontrivial topology.
A recent study conducted by researchers from the Faculty of Chemistry of the University of Wrocław was published in Angewandte Chemie International Edition and quickly attracted the international scientific community. The impact of the work is a highlight article – an expert commentary published in Nature Synthesis.
