Commentary by an expert from the University of Wrocław on the 2025 Nobel Prize in Physics

At the busy start of the academic year, the IDUB office at the University of Wrocław has prepared further activities to support scientific activity and reward researchers’ achievements.

On Tuesday, 7 October, at 1 p.m., in the Senate Hall of the University of Wrocław (Main Building), pl. Uniwersytecki 1, representatives of the Lower Silesian Region authorities and the Rector of the University of Wrocław, prof. Robert Olkiewicz, will sign a framework agreement on cooperation.

In 2025, two equal awards in the category of theoretical aspects of computer science were given to dr Piotr Ostropolski-Nalewaja from the University of Wrocław and Marek Sokołowski from the University of Warsaw, and in the category of applied computer science to Marcin Sendera from the Jagiellonian University.

Another year at the University of Wrocław, as part of the ARQUS European University Alliance, has begun. Thanks to these projects, initiatives constantly come to life, crossing not only national borders, but also redefining academic life. The staff of the Faculty of Languages, Literatures and Cultures at the University of Wrocław invite to the seminar Intergenerational Pedagogies of Remembrance: Arts, Curatorship and Youth Participation.

The collections of the Polish Theatre in Wrocław will be digitised and made available online soon. This exceptional project will bring the legacy of one of Poland’s most important theatre institutions closer to a wide audience. The initiative is being carried out with the participation of the Digitisation and Digital Services Division of the Library of the University of Wrocław.

The Faculty of Biological Sciences at the University of Wrocław has just hosted the eleventh international conference of the Polish Society for Human and Evolution Studies (PTNCE) — a unique event that brought together researchers, experts and enthusiasts from around the globe.

During the inauguration of the academic year, which is soon to be held at the University of Wrocław, the Heisig Prize will be given to the winner — and it is already known who that is!

In September, the University of Wrocław hosted the 18th edition of the conference Formal Description of Slavic Languages.
