    With deep sorrow, we inform you that on 24 May 2025, prof. dr hab. Anna Aleksiewicz, a prominent academic of the University of Wrocław, passed away.
    Born on 17 July 1936, she was a renowned researcher of 19th-century book history, the author of numerous academic publications, and a respected university teacher for many generations of library scientists.

    It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of the late prof. dr hab Jerzy Jastrzębski, who died on 27 May 2025, born in 1945 in Częstochowa. He was a co-founder and long-standing member of the Institute of Journalism and Social Communication.

    Prof. Czesław Lewandowski passed away

    Dr hab. Czesław Lewandowski was a retired professor at the UWr Institute of Political Science and an academic teacher of many generations of political scientists. The funeral ceremony will take place on 27 March 2025 at 12.00 noon at the Cemetery na Gaju in Wrocław.

    Dr hab. Tadeusz Radoń (1929–2025), associate professor, was one of the fifteen students of the founder of the Wrocław school of surface physics – prof. dr hab. Jan Niklibowiec. Together with professor Niklibowiec’s students – professor Ryszard Męclewski and professor Zbigniew Sidorski – he contributed to the creation of one of the world’s most important field emission centers.

    Dr Stanisław Rogowski, born in Wschowa on 1 May 1946, died on 25 December 2024. The funeral ceremony will take place on 8 January 2025 at 1.00 p.m. in the chapel at the St Lawrence Parish cemetery at ul. Bujwida.

    Dr Joanna Zakolska, born on 8 February 1974 in Opole, passed away on 20 December 2024. The funeral ceremony will take place on 11 January 2025 at 11.50 am in the chapel at Osobowicki Cemetery.

    On 31.12.2024, Kazimiera (Grażyna) Małkowicz, a long-standing employee of the Bursar’s Office of the University of Wrocław, died at the age of 90.
    Mass will be held in the chapel of the Osobowicki Cemetery in Wrocław on 09.01.2025 at 11.20 a.m. The mass will be followed by the escort of the deceased to her resting place, as sadly announced by her family.
