Can keeping a healthy diet lead to a pathology? How social media can influence nutrition habits and what increases the risk of orthorexia? We are discussing the issue with prof. dr hab. Anna Brytek-Matera, a specialist in the field of orthorexia nervosa and eating disorders, the author of the first scientific monograph about orthorexia nervosa in the world, Orthorexia Nervosa: Current Understanding and Perspectives, published by Cambridge University Press.

Stanford University and the Elsevier publishing house have published the next edition of the ranking of researchers with the greatest impact on the development of science in the world (the so-called TOP 2% list). Every year, more and more scientists from the University of Wrocław appear in the list.

Is mathematics still the queen of sciences? This question will certainly be answered in the affirmative by young and talented mathematics enthusiasts from all over Poland, who will turn out in large numbers at the University of Wrocław for the 9th Congress of Young Mathematicians.

At the University of Wrocław, we are exceptionally appreciative not only of finalists and laureates of Olympiads and candidates who have passed their school-leaving exams, but above all of those who want to develop their interests and become ‘Young Researchers’. Today we will tell the story of our history student.

We are opening the first academic Centre for Digital Musicology in Poland. The prologue to its activities will be a lecture by Sonia Wronkowska (National Library) on MEI encoding.

W ramach 9. Edycji Konkursu i Programu Certyfikacyjnego „Studia z Przyszłością” Komisja Konkursowa zdecydowała o przyznaniu kierunkowi „Pedagogika przedszkolna i wczesnoszkolna” (studia jednolite magisterskie), prowadzonemu w Instytucie Pedagogiki, na Wydziale Nauk Historycznych i Pedagogicznych Uniwersytetu Wrocławskiego, Certyfikatu Akredytacyjnego „Studia z Przyszłością” 2024. Aplikacja konkursowa kierunku Pedagogika przedszkolna i wczesnoszkolna została oceniona na 59 punktów (maksymalna liczba punktów to 60), co spowodowało, że dodatkowo przyznano kierunkowi PPiW Certyfikat Nadzwyczajny – Lider Jakości Kształcenia.

Pozytywnie dla Uniwersytetu Wrocławskiego zakończyła się niedawno przeprowadzona śródokresowa ewaluacja realizacji planów podniesienia poziomu jakości działalności naukowej i kształcenia przez uczelnie uczestniczące w I edycji programu „Inicjatywa doskonałości – uczelnia badawcza” (IDUB).

Dr Agnieszka Janik z Uniwersytetu Wrocławskiego otrzymała Nagrodę im. Profesora Ryszarda Więckowskiego. Doceniono jej pracę pt. „Podwórkowe przestrzenie i miejsca zabaw. Studium pedagogiczno-kulturowe”.

16 lutego 2024 r. na UWr list intencyjny między Ośrodkiem „Pamięć i Przyszłość” prowadzącym Centrum Historii Zajezdnia a Uniwersytetem Wrocławskim podpisali Rektor UWr prof. Robert Olkiewicz i dr hab. Wojciech Kucharski, z-ca dyrektora ds. naukowych Ośrodka.
