Martyna Janaszek is a medical chemistry student at the University of Wrocław. But today, it’s not chemistry we’ll be talking about. Martyna is an athlete specialising in strength sports: bench press and powerlifting. She has been nominated for the “Young Talents” award in the category of sporting success.
From 22 April to 7 May 2025, eight students of Spatial Management from the Institute of Geography and Regional Development at the University of Wrocław are taking part in a study visit to Tsinghua University in Beijing – ranked the best university in China according to the Shanghai Ranking, and 22nd globally.

As was the case last year, our student was among the winners of the Polish Mathematical Society’s competition for the best student paper on the theory of probability and applications of mathematics. The results of the LVIII edition of this competition were announced on 19 February. This time, among the winners was our graduate, Witold Płecha, whose master’s thesis entitled ‘Some Limit Theorems for Random Randomness. ‘Some Limit Theorems for Random Weighted n-partite Complete Graphs’, written under the supervision of dr Piotr Dyszewski (UWr Mathematical Institute), took second place.
