UL: Studies and Students

On 13 November 2024, at the Honorary Consulate of India in Wrocław, a ceremony was held to award two vouchers for air tickets to India, for flights Warsaw – Delhi – Warsaw, which were funded by the Honorary Consul of India in Wroclaw, Mr. Kartikey Johri. The persons honoured with the award of the Honorary Consul were Ms Zofia Błasińska and Katarzyna Piróg, outstanding students in the first year of graduate studies in Indian Studies. The two awarded students were selected from among all students of Indian philology from the second year of undergraduate studies, as a result of a secret ballot of the staff of the Department of Indian Studies (ISKŚiO UWr).

The Department of Occupational Health and Safety and Fire Protection at the University of Wrocław, in cooperation with the Rescue Centre, has prepared a series of instructional videos on first aid.

The University of Wrocław is cooperating with the Belarus Free University Foundation to implement the Belarus Free University (WUB) project in 2024-2025. The project is supported by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, and aims to develop a platform offering a European level of online postgraduate education for Belarusian youth, both those who live in the country and those in exile. The Institute of International and Security Studies at the University of Wrocław has a leading role in implementing the project.

Did you know that at the University of Wrocław we give special recognition to finalists and laureates of Olympiads and those who have passed their matriculation exams very well and got into our university with excellent results? We have a Young Researcher 2020-2025 scholarship for the top 100 candidates! As much as PLN 1 million to be distributed already in the first year of studies – within the framework of the ‘Initiative of Excellence – Research University’ (IDUB) programme!

The Student Scientific Association briefly. operating at the Institute of Journalism and Social Communication at the University of Wrocław, together with former members of the association, wrote the report ‘ADHD. I jak tu planować?’ [eng. ADHD. And how to plan?].

On 1 October 2024, the solemn “Gaude Mater Polonia” sounded once again in the Aula Leopoldina, and its baroque interior was filled with the rectors of Wrocław universities, employees, doctoral students and students of the University of
Wrocław, as well as distinguished guests.

On 26 September, the International Office of the University of Wrocław organised Orientation Days and a Welcome Ceremony for all international students coming to study at our university.

The International Office’s application in the PROM competition for short-term academic exchange received funding from the National Academic Exchange Agency to the tune of nearly PLN 2 million. The funds will enable academic staff, doctoral students and UWr students to travel to academic centres all over the world (excluding the Russian Federation) and receive visitors to Wrocław.

The Cymeliad, which is the adaptation days for students at the University Library, starts in October! We invite you to your first encounter with the University Library, where you will spend many enjoyable moments throughout your studies.
