
Celebration of Science 2024 in Wrocław
The rectors of the universities of Wrocław and Opole invite to an open meeting of the College of Rectors of Universities of Wrocław and Opole on November 15 to celebrate the Feast of Science. The day before, a special concert will be held to celebrate the holiday in Wroclaw.
The main celebration of Science Day in Wrocław will begin on Friday, 15 November, at 4 pm in the Aula Leopoldina. The celebration will include the presentation of the KRUWiO award and doctoral scholarships from the mayor of Wrocław. On the same morning, a delegation of the KRUWiO will lay flowers at the Monument to the Martyrdom of Lviv Professors and plaques commemorating Lviv professors imprisoned in Lviv in 1939.
A day earlier, on Thursday, 14 November, a commemorative Concert will be held to celebrate the Science Day in Wrocław, invited jointly by the mayor of Wrocław and the rectors of the universities of Wrocław and Opole. The concert hall of the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music will feature Aleksandra Kubas-Kruk (soprano), Przemysław Borys (tenor) and Bogdan Makal (bass). The artists will be accompanied by the Academic Symphony Orchestra of the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław and the combined academic choirs of Wrocław under the direction of Marek Wroniszewski.
The programme includes:
- Ferenc Liszt: Les préludes, Symphonic Poem No. 3, S. 97
- Franz Schubert – Mass No. 2 in G major, D 167
- Maciej Domański – Pieśń Wzajemnego Szacunku,
- Johannes Brahms – Academic Festival Overture.
It will begin at 7 pm.
