College of Interdisciplinary Individual Studies UWr

The University of Wrocław is constantly improving its ideas for fascinating studies. One of the most interesting proposals is the College of Interdisciplinary Individual Studies – these are first-cycle (bachelor’s) and second-cycle (master’s) studies, as well as long-cycle studies, based on the classical model of studying based on the master-student relationship.

Why is studying at CIIS worthwhile?

1) firstly, these studies are for people who are curious about the world,
2) secondly, they offer development opportunities in various areas of knowledge,
3) they teach independence and an active approach to work,
4) they are a good start to a satisfying professional career.

Headhunters and recruiters are looking for CIIS graduates. Many graduates of interdisciplinary studies choose scientific careers at home as well as abroad. CIIS aims to organise studies for enthusiasts of learning who simultaneously want to study two or more fields of study under the guidance of an academic guardian angel – that is, their individual tutor.

Classes on the philosophy of science and nature, language and culture, and a course dedicated to the methodology of research work have been developed specifically for our students. An integral part of studying at CIIS are the BEYOND LANGUAGE guest lectures, where invited guests share their research, experiences, observations and adventures going further than BEYOND LANGUAGE.

The interdisciplinary education of the CIIS team – a chemist and computer scientist fluent in French and English, a lawyer and mountain biker, an English-speaker with a passion for textology and Judaism, as well as a professional seeker of creative and unusual scientific topics for undergraduates and doctoral students – guarantees an excellent environment for fascinating and original undergraduate and graduate studies, where the rule is the obvious statement: “the sky is the limit”. Moreover, CIIS staff are certified tutors, passionate learners, travelers, initiators of interesting projects and events. They are relentless in talent hunting, inviting high school students to join the interesting studies.

We encourage you to read the latest reports from LO nr II in Lubin and from the classes conducted at LO nr 1 im. Danuty Śledzikówny “Inki” in Wrocław. In the past months and years, workshops were also conducted at LO im. Tadeusza Kosciuszki in Syców and LO im. Adama Mickiewicza in Góra.
