
Concert honouring professor Adam Jezierski
On 9 December, the Aula Leopoldina of the University of Wrocław hosted the concert “Artists for an Artist”, dedicated to the Senior Rector of the University of Wrocław, professor Adam Jezierski. The event had a formal academic character and served as a symbolic summary of the professor’s many years of presence in the scholarly and cultural life of the University.
The ceremony opened with a laudatory address delivered by the Dean of the Faculty of Chemistry, professor Marcin Sobczyk. In his speech, the Dean highlighted professor Jezierski’s scholarly achievements, his role as an academic teacher, and the significance of his attitude and commitment for successive generations of students and colleagues.
The artistic part of the concert was enriched with recollections and anecdotes about the Jubilant, shared by professor Jan Miodek, professor Jacek Przygodzki, Dean of the Faculty of Law, Administration and Economics and professor Marcin Sobczyk. The performers included students and graduates of the University of Wrocław, who presented a diverse repertoire ranging from classical songs to contemporary arrangements. The programme featured, among others, Lea Wiegand, Mikołaj Klyta, Martyna Dubińska, Stas Marinczenko, Maria Molenda, Andrzej Walus, Małgorzata Pelak, Igor Jelinek, Four Spajs Girls, Kamila Ogrodnik, Luba Moc and Zofia Popławska. The event was hosted by dr Julianna Redlich from the Institute of German Studies.
The concert was attended by representatives of the authorities of the University of Wrocław, deans and vice-deans of faculties, academic and administrative staff, as well as a large number of students and alumni. Long-standing collaborators of Professor Adam Jezierski and individuals closely associated with the University were also present.
