Conference at the UWr Institute of Political Science
On 6 February, a conference for history and civics teachers took place at the Institute of Political Science, organised by Towarzystwo Edukacji Obywatelskiej (Association for Civic Education) in cooperation with the Institute of Political Science, the Historical Institute of the University of Wrocław and the Regional Examination Commission (OKE) in Wrocław.
The conference began with lectures by prof. dr hab. Jacek Piotrowski of the Historical Institute („Samorząd lokalny w II Rzeczypospolitej”) and dr hab. Kamil Glinka of the Institute of Political Science („Samorząd regionalny wobec wyzwań i zagrożeń – doświadczenia i projekcje”).
The main theme of the conference was the teaching of regional self-government. The results of the Lower Silesian high school final exams in 2023 were also summarised. In addition, conference participants were able to take part in one of four workshops:
1) Iconographic sources in the history Matura exam / Speaker: prof. Joanna Wojdon, University of Wrocław
2) Argumentative statements in the history Matura exam / Speaker: dr Piotr Podemski, University of Warsaw
3) Creating and grading tasks in the history Matura exam / Speaker: Wacław Suski, OKE Wrocław
4) From simulation games to active and engaged learners / Instructors: dr hab. Dariusz Skrzypiński, prof. UWr, dr Andrzej Ferens, dr Katarzyna Kobielska, dr Iwona Macek, Institute of Political Science UWr
The conference is part of the project „Regiony i ich samorządy. Tradycja, rola, reprezentacja mieszkańców”, which aims to disseminate knowledge about the sejmiks of voivodships in Poland.
The project is co-financed from funds from the state budget awarded by the Minister of Education and Science as part of the programme „Nauka dla Społeczeństwa II”
