Conference: “State Labour Inspection as a guarantor of social order”
On 6 October 2023, at the premises of the Training Center of State Labour Inspection in Wrocław was held a nationwide scientific conference titled “State Labour Inspection as a guarantor of social order” („PIP jako gwarant ładu społecznego”). The conference was organised by the Department of Labour Law of the University of Wrocław and the Training Center of State Labour Inspection in Wrocław. The conference was held under the honorary patronage of Rector of the University of Wrocław and the Chief Labour Inspector.
The conference was opened by prof. Bartłomiej Krzan, Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Law, Administration and Economics of the University of Wrocław, and Andrzej Wlazło, Director of the Training Center of State Labour Inspection in Wrocław. Opening remarks were given by Deputy Chief Labour Inspector Dariusz Mińkowski.
The conference was attended by representatives of academic centres dealing with labour law and social security issues, inspectors and employees of the State Labour Inspection, as well as representatives of the trade unions and employers’ associations.
The conference lectures were given by:
- dr hab. Dariusz Makowski, prof. of the University of Lodz – “State Labour Inspection as an element of social and legal order” (original title: „Państwowa Inspekcja Pracy jako element ładu społeczno-prawnego”),
- Łukasz Paroń, manager of the Training Department of the State Labour Inspection Training Centre – “Conciliation function of the State Labour Inspection” (original title: „Funkcja koncyliacyjna Państwowej Inspekcji Pracy”),
- prof. dr hab. Krzysztof Ślebzak, Adam Mickiewicz University Poznań – “Role of the State Labour Inspection in the field of social insurance” (original title: „Rola Państwowej Inspekcji Pracy w dziedzinie ubezpieczeń społecznych”),
- dr hab. Joanna Unterschütz, prof. at the University of Business and Administration in Gdynia – “Labour inspection and observance of European labour law” (original title: „Inspekcja pracy a przestrzeganie europejskiego prawa pracy”),
- dr hab. Artur Tomanek, prof. of the University of Wrocław – “Influence of the State Labour Inspection on the formation of legal forms of employment” (original title: „Wpływ Państwowej Inspekcji Pracy na kształtowanie form prawnych zatrudnienia”),
- dr hab. Teresa Wyka, prof. of the University of Lodz – “The right to safe and hygienic working conditions as an element of social order” (original title: „Prawo do bezpiecznych i higienicznych warunków pracy jako element ładu społecznego”),
- dr Łukasz Sztych, Deputy District Labour Inspector in Olsztyn – “Cooperation of the State Labour Inspection with other institutions and organisations” (original title: „Współpraca Państwowej Inspekcji Pracy z innymi instytucjami i organizacjami”).
The conference was followed by a discussion involving conference participants and speakers.
After the end of the conference, Łukasz Paroń, manager of the Training Department of the State Labour Inspection Training Centre, and dr hab. Artur Tomanek, prof. UWr, head of the Department of Labour Law at the University of Wrocław, closed the conference. They thanked the speakers and guests, as well as the Rector of the University of Wrocław and the Chief
Labour Inspector for taking patronage of honour over the conference. They also expressed hope that it would become a regular and annual event.
