Doctoral students of the University of Wrocław are laureates of the Student Scholarship Programme

On November 15 (Celebration of Science Day) took place a formal meeting of the Collegium of Rectors of Wrocław and Opole Universities. During the event, laureates of the Student Scholarship Programme received their diplomas. Dr Jacek Ossowski announced the laureates.

The Student Scholarship Programme is initiated by the Mayor of Wrocław and implemented by the Wrocław Academic Centre, with the scholarships being funded by the Municipality of Wrocław. The scholarships were open to doctoral students from Wrocław’s universities (both public and private) as well as research institutions. Individuals with exceptional accomplishments in areas crucial to the city’s development were eligible to receive the scholarships.

These outstanding achievements were the crucial parameters in receiving the scholarship. The scholarships are granted in the following categories:

  1. Ludwik Hirszfeld Scholarship in the field of biological and medical sciences
  2. Hugon Steinhaus Scholarship in the field of mathematical sciences
  3. Max Born Scholarship in the field of physical and chemical sciences
  4. Jerzy Grotowski Scholarship in the field of arts
  5. Jan Mozrzymas Scholarship in the field of interdisciplinary research
  6. Wincenty Styś Scholarship in the field of social and human sciences
  7. Marian Suski Scholarship in the field of engineering and technical sciences
  8. Alfred Jahn Scholarship in the field of Earth and environmental sciences

Each of the scholars will be receiving 2 thousand zlotych monthly, for nine months. In this year’s edition, 12 people received the scholarship, and the scholarship comities additionally distinguished 15 participants. Among PhD students at the University of Wrocław, scholarships were awarded to:

Hugon Steinhaus Scholarship in the field of mathematical sciences: Maciej Korpalski, additionally, the committee decided to award a distinction to Klaudia Balcer

Max Born Scholarship in the field of physical and chemical sciences: Paulina Potok

Jerzy Grotowski Scholarship in the field of arts: Marianna Siatkowska (Kowal), additionally, the committee decided to award a distinction to Adam Kruk

Ludwik Hirszfeld Scholarship in the field of biological and medical sciences: Agata Górska, additionally, the committee decided to award a distinction to Michał Małaszczuk

Alfred Jahn Scholarship in the field of Earth and environmental sciences: Aleksandra Wołoszyn, additionally, the committee decided to award a distinction to Mateusz Sapieja

Jan Mozrzymas Scholarship in the field of interdisciplinary research: Dorota Choińska, Lidia Wojtycka, additionally, the committee decided to award a distinction to Krzysztof Bekieszczuk, Marta Ciechowicz i Patrycja Neumann
