Doctoral students of the University of Wrocław are laureates of the Student Scholarship Programme 2023

The Student Scholarship Programme is carried through at the Mayor of Wrocław’s instigation by the Wrocław Academic Centre and the scholarships are funded by the Municipality of Wrocław. Doctoral students of Wrocław universities (both public and private) and science facilities were eligible for the scholarships. People with outstanding achievements in fields important to the development of our city could win scholarships.

These very achievements were the principal criterion for obtaining a scholarship. The scholarships were awarded in the following categories:

  1. Ludwik Hirszfeld Scholarship in the field of biological and medical sciences
  2. Hugon Steinhaus Scholarship in the field of mathematical sciences
  3. Max Born Scholarship in the field of physical and chemical sciences
  4. Jerzy Grotowski Scholarship in the field of arts
  5. Jan Mozrzymas Scholarship in the field of interdisciplinary research
  6. Wincenty Styś Scholarship in the field of social and human sciences
  7. Marian Suski Scholarship in the field of engineering and technical sciences
  8. Alfred Jahn Scholarship in the field of Earth and environmental sciences

Each winner will receive two thousand zlotys per month for nine months. There is a total of 24 laureates in the ongoing edition of the Programme and additionally 22 participants received distinctions. Among the University of Wrocław doctoral students received the following scholarships:

Hugon Steinhaus Scholarship in the field of mathematical sciences: Michał Stypułkowski and additionally the committee awarded a distinction to Maciej Kucharski and Julia Lenczewska
Ludwik Hirszfeld Scholarship in the field of biological and medical sciences: Justyna Wądzyńska and additionally the committee awarded a distinction to Aleksandra Gędaj i Dominika Żukowska
Wincenty Styś Scholarship in the field of social and human sciences: Paulina Kaczmarczyk, Grzegorz Michalec, Aleksandra Zielińska and additionally the committee awarded a distinction to Krzysztof Bekieszczuk, Dorota Choińska i Elżbieta Górka
Max Born Scholarship in the field of physical and chemical sciences: Oleksandr Vitiuk
Jan Mozrzymas Scholarship in the field of interdisciplinary research: the committee awarded a distinction to Wojciech Milczarski
Alfred Jahn Scholarship in the field of Earth and environmental sciences: Michał Halicki, Iwo Wieczorek and additionally the committee awarded a distinction to Błażej Cieślik
