Environmental Inauguration 24/25 (photo report)
On 1 October, the Environmental Inauguration of the Academic Year 2024/2025, i.e. the inauguration of all public universities in Wrocław, was held in the Aula Leopoldina of tje University of Wrocław. The inaugural speech was delivered by the Rector of the University of Wrocław, prof. dr hab. Robert Olkiewicz, Chairman of the Collegium of Rectors of Wrocław and Opole Universities.
During the ceremony, the Wrocław Scientific Award was presented to the following professors: Stanisław Bereś from the Institute of Journalism and Social Communication at the University of Wrocław and Marek Pijarowski from the Chair of Conducting at the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław.
The inaugural lecture, entitled ‘Znaczenie aktywności ruchowej w rozwoju człowieka i jej rola w edukacji’, was given by prof. dr hab. Andrzej Rokita from the Wroclaw University of Health and Sport Sciences.
An important part of the ceremony was the matriculation of students, which was carried out by prof. dr hab. Czesław Zając, Rector of Wrocław University of Economics.
The event was highlighted by a performance by the Wrocław University of Science and Technology choir under the baton of Małgorzata Sapiecha-Muzioł.
After the ceremony in the Aula Leopoldina, the rectors’ procession made its way to the Wrocław market square, where, traditionally, the choirs of Wrocław universities together with students, lecturers and Wrocław citizens sang the Gaudeamus Igitur.
