
European Union Prize for Citizen Science
We are pleased to inform you that the international research EnrichEuropeana+, fully titled Enriching Europeana through citizen science and artificial intelligence – unlocking the 19th century (01.04.2021-31.03.2023), in which the University of Wrocław – University Library participated as a partner, received an Honorary Mention in organised for the first time competition for European Union Prize for Citizen Science in 2023.
The project Europeana Transcribe on Transcribathon.eu is an online citizen initiative to transcribe and enrich digitalised historical materials from cultural heritage institutions across Europe available on Europeana.eu. Participation in the platform is supported by events known as Transcribathons, where citizen scientists can compete and receive awards for their achievements. The platform aims to make handwritten historical documents machine-readable and accessible to everyone. All papers are publicly available, and findings can be reused.
