Institute of International Studies would like to invite you to the private viewing of the “Wartime Poster” art exhibition which will take place on March 14, 2023, at 1 p.m. in the entrance hall of the Institute. At the exhibition, you will be able to see posters dealing with the Russo-Ukrainian War.
The Russian aggression against Ukraine is the biggest and the bloodiest war in Europe, after WWII, which greatly influenced European safety, the perception paradigm of a force of law against the law of force, everyday lives of millions of Ukrainians and Europeans. The Armed Forces of Ukraine stand up for universal values against bestiality and dehumanization of the Russian aggressor. This fight goes beyond the battlefield – into the world of ideologies, science, and art.
The «Wartime Poster» exhibition is a follow-up of a big international project «Poster Against the War» made of artists from 10 countries. Its inauguration took place on January 19, 2023 in NEON Gallery, at the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław (curators: prof. Olha Lukovska, prof. Wojciech Pukocz).
The idea behind the poster exhibition made by Polish and Ukrainian students of Institute of International Studies at the University of Wrocław reflects the pathos and relevance of the topic. It is an opportunity for Polish and foreign students, as well as, guests and lecturers of University of Wrocław to familiarize themselves with the artists’ works.
The exhibited works aim to explicitly and clearly showcase the power of solidarity, the importance of democratic values, and the victory of good over evil. The choice of Polish and Ukrainian artists is not coincidental. We purposely try to draw attention to how close Poles and Ukrainians are, the power of union and community, and understanding in these difficult times of evil.
