Fifth edition of the competition for the best bachelor’s and master’s theses using oral history
Deadline for submissions: September 5, 2025.
The competition is addressed to students and graduates of universities of all majors who, after October 1, 2024, have defended or by September 30, 2025, will defend a bachelor’s or master’s thesis that uses oral accounts of witnesses to history (recorded independently or found in archives) and/or oral history methodology (this includes theoretical considerations of oral history methodology).
Willingness to participate in the competition must be notified to the organizers by September 5, 2025, by sending an electronically completed application form (Appendix No.1) and a statement from the supervisor about the planned date of defence and the current status of the thesis (Appendix No.2). Both attachments should be sent to the e-mail address of the secretary of the competition’s committee (kamil.borecki@zajezdnia.org).
Please familiarize yourself with the regulations.
Submitted works will be judged in two separate categories: bachelor’s theses and master’s theses. The first two places from both categories will receive a financial prize.
The competition’s organisers are the “Pamięć i Przyszłość” Centre, based in Wrocław, and the Polish Oral History Association, based in Krakow.
