Study programmes
The study programmes for first-cycle (bachelor’s), second-cycle (master’s) and long-cycle (unified master’s) programmes include courses that are compulsory for all students in a given year and courses that can be self-selected. This means that you have an influence on your study programme. You can find the study plans on the faculties’ pages.
The study plans include a number of courses that last a semester or two semesters. A course can be delivered in the form of a lecture, seminar, conversion course, exercises, laboratory, workshop, fieldwork, internship and other teaching forms approved by the institute’s board. Each course ends with a pass/fail grade or an examination. Courses are core and elective (include general and introductory classes) and optional – include elective classes.
First-cycle (bachelor’s) and second-cycle (master’s) seminar is a special type of course. Its organisation (entry requirements, prerequisites and form of credit) is decided by the instructor, who is an independent researcher (assistant professor, professor) or an advanced doctor in postdoctoral work (with the consent of the faculty council).
The studies conclude with a bachelor’s or master’s exam.
