Fundraising for the bombed Taras Shevchenko University

On 31 December 2022, New Year’s Eve, the buildings of the Exhibition Campus of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv were damaged by a Russian missile attack.

The significant damage was made to the buildings of the Institute of Biology and Medicine Scientific and Educational Center, Scientific and Educational Institute of High Technologies, Faculties of Psychology, Sociology, Computer Sciences and Cybernetics, Radiophysics, Electronics and Computer Systems, Mechanics and Mathematics, Geography, as well as laboratory building, Department of Nuclear Physics, cryogenic complex of the Faculty of Physics, sports facilities, Ukrainian Physics and Mathematics Lyceum and some students’ residence halls.

This time the losses caused by the missile are several times as high as the losses the University suffered during the massive missile attack of Kyiv in October 2022 when damage was made i.a. to the main building and library buildings.

Kyiv University has announced a collection of funds for the reconstruction of buildings destroyed during Saturday’s attack. We join the appeal of our Ukrainian colleagues and earnestly ask you to support the Kiev academic community at this difficult time!

Detailed information about the collection can be found on the website of the Taras Shevchenko National University in Kyiv. More information can also be found on the university’s Facebook and on the pages of Ukrainska Pravda.

The project “Integrated Program for the Development of the University of Wrocław 2018-2022” co-financed by the European Union from the European Social Fund
