Graduation Ceremony for English-language students [PHOTO REPORT]
On 18 July, 185 students from English-language degree programmes took part in the Graduation Ceremony held in the magnificent Aula Leopoldina — a formal celebration marking the awarding of diplomas to graduates.
International students receiving their long-awaited diplomas chose the University of Wrocław precisely because of its wide range of programmes tailored specifically to them — as many emphasised in interviews afterwards. We are proud that so many students from all corners of the globe choose our university. This year’s ceremony was attended by representatives of over 60 countries — not only from neighbouring states such as Ukraine and Germany, but also from Botswana, Ecuador, the Philippines, Kenya, Peru, South Africa, and Zimbabwe, among others.
The event was organised by the University’s Admissions and Promotion Coordination Office and takes place annually on the third Friday of July. This year marked its third edition.
The ceremony was attended by over 600 people, including parents and friends invited by the graduates, as well as thesis supervisors and coordinators of the English-language programmes.
The programmes whose graduates received diplomas included:
- Bachelor in Chemistry
- Master in Chemistry: Advanced Synthesis in Chemistry
- Bachelor in Biotechnology
- Master in Medical Biotechnology
- Master in Geography: Tourism and Hospitality
- Bachelor in European Cultures
- Master in Communication Management
- Master in Journalism and Social Communication
- Bachelor in International Relations: Global Studies
- Bachelor in Political Science
- Master in International Relations: Global Studies
- Master in Political Science
- Master in Sociology: Intercultural Mediation
- Bachelor in Business and Administration
- Bachelor in Criminal Justice
- Master in Administration in International Organizations
- Master in LLM International & European Law
- Master in Managerial Economics
Due to the large number of guests, the event was divided into two rounds. Each round ended with a gala and refreshments at the Oratorium Marianum, where there was also an opportunity to take commemorative photos and learn about career prospects after graduation. Representatives of the Academic Career Office, master’s programmes and doctoral schools presented their offers.
