Student Ombudsman
Marta Bakun, MA – Student Ombudsman at the University of Wrocław. Graduate of the Faculty of Law, Administration and Economics at the University of Wrocław, majoring in law. Doctoral student of the College of Political Science and Administration at the Doctoral School of the University of Wrocław. Graduate of postgraduate studies in the field of Contract Law in Consumer and Professional Trade at the Jagiellonian University in Kraków.
During her studies, she actively participated in the life of the University of Wrocław, serving as the Starost of the Faculty of Law, Administration and Economics. As a student representative in the Faculty Council, she actively looked after the interests of students. In 2015-2018, she served as Chair of the Legal Committee of the Student Government of the University of Wrocław, and then as Vice-Chair of the Student Government. Her experience gained in the structures of the University, both as a student and now also as a lecturer, allows her to better understand the problems that arise on the student-teacher line.
The tasks of the student ombudsman at the University of Wrocław include, first and foremost, the protection of the rights of students pursuing undergraduate and postgraduate education. The student ombudsman represents students in conflict and crisis situations and acts as a mediator. Thanks to her knowledge of the regulations governing the course of studies as set forth in the Law on Higher Education and Science, the Rules and Regulations of Studies and the University Statute, the student ombudsman advises students on the granting of material aid at the University of Wrocław, and educates them on student rights and responsibilities.
