How to communicate with young people? How to talk about them?
In 2022-2023, dr hab. Justyna Deszcz-Tryhubczak, prof. UWr participated (by invitation) in the project “Mówcie nam po imieniu. Komunikacja z dziećmi i o dzieciach”, implemented by the Margin Foundation in cooperation with the Polish Donors Forum and the BNP Paribas Foundation.
The project activities resulted in two publications, including the publication “Najlepiej zapytać. Jak komunikować się z młodymi osobami? Jak o nich rozmawiać?”, prepared by prof. Justyna Deszcz-Tryhubczak of the Institute of English Studies at the University of Wrocław and dr Ewa Maciejewska-Mroczek of the Institute of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology at the University of Warsaw, coordinator of the Interdisciplinary Research Team on Childhood at the University of Warsaw.
Language has meaning and words have power. They can strengthen but also weaken and demotivate. This applies to all of us but especially to children. Not only our own children, but also the children that companies, foundations and associations want to help. How we speak about and to young people is of gigantic importance, so what language should we use? We encourage you to read the publications on communication between adults and children: “Najlepiej zapytać” and “Mów mi po imieniu. Dzieci o języku uznania. Propozycja warsztatu” on the Moc Słów website. Below is the cover of the publication “Najlepiej zapytać. Jak komunikować się z młodymi osobami? Jak o nich rozmawiać?”, co-authored by prof. Justyna Deszcz-Tryhubczak.
