3rd Artificial Intelligence Olympiad
The Artificial Intelligence Olympiad is a competition aimed at Polish secondary school students. It is also a unique opportunity to support young talent—people who are just entering the world of AI and wish to expand their knowledge, gain new experiences, and develop their skills at the highest level. The aim of the competition is to popularize the key knowledge and technologies that form the foundation of artificial intelligence. One of the regional stages will take place on March 14–15 at the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science of the University of Wrocław, with 29 contestants participating.
The Olympiad is co-organized by four leading Polish universities: the University of Wrocław, Jagiellonian University, Adam Mickiewicz University, and the University of Warsaw. A broad team of top scientists oversees the creation of tasks, training, and academic supervision.
“We want the Olympiad to be an undertaking similar in scale and significance to other subject-based Olympiads, such as the Mathematical or Informatics Olympiads. Polish programmers are a world-respected brand, and these Olympiads have contributed to that success. We believe that in a short time, our Olympiad will become one of the most important competitions for students interested in the STEM fields,” the organizers emphasize.
In 2025, representatives selected during the second edition of the Olympiad won gold and bronze medals in the team events, as well as seven medals in the individual competitions at the International Artificial Intelligence Olympiad in Beijing. Notably, Krzysztof Rojek, high school student of 2nd class (eng. a 10th-grade student at the 3rd Secondary School) in Wrocław, became the world champion. These successes confirm the immense potential of Polish students to contribute to the development of AI and technology both in Poland and abroad. This year, the teams that will represent Poland at the international competition in Abu Dhabi will be selected.
The first remote stage of the Olympiad has concluded. On March 14–15, regional stages will be held at the mathematics and computer science faculties of universities in Kraków, Poznań, Warsaw, and Wrocław, with a total of 138 participants. The competition will involve solving diverse AI-related tasks and will take place from 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday, March 14–15. Additional afternoon events, such as lectures and tours, are planned for participants on Saturday.
