In the circle of symbolism

The Museum of the University of Wrocław invites to a new exhibition „W kręgu symbolizmu” (“In the circle of symbolism”).

The exhibition presents easel paintings by four contemporary artists working in the Symbolist trend: Karol BĄK, Janusz LEWANDOWSKI (†), Daniel PIELUCHA, and Grzegorz STEC. Symbolism is a trend in the visual arts which rejects naturalistic representation of reality, proposing instead a dialogue with the viewer using concepts and symbols. These means of expression aim to depict the artist’s experiences and emotions, and often also an attempt to capture transcendent reality.

The opening of the exhibition will begin on Wednesday 6 March 2024 at 6 p.m. with a piano concert performed by Bartosz Sienkiewicz in the Oratorium Marianum, and will conclude with the official opening of the exhibition on the first level of the Mathematical Tower.

The exhibition will be on display at the Mathematical Tower until 17 April 2024.

You are most welcome!
