Institute of Psychology supports creative development of children and youth
Project Creative Poland takes off! A team of researchers from the Institute of Psychology at the University of Wrocław and from Maria Grzegowska University in Warsaw led by dr hab. Piotr Sorokowski, professor of the University of Wrocław, invites primary school second grade teachers to partake in the project. The development of creativity and cultural sensibility in pupils and the enhancement of teaching staff’s abilities are paramount goals of the project. As part of the project, the scientists invite teachers to training focused on psychopedagogy of creativity and to complete Dorota Jankowska and Aleksandra Gajda’s “Compass of Creativity” practice together with pupils. Let’s give the floor to the authors of the project: “Our main goal is to implement and disseminate on a broad scale an educational method of increasing creativity among children and youth that was verified in terms of efficiency. In the opinion of scientists, employers and community leaders, creativity is commonly thought to be an essential professional and social ability and a driving force of economical and technological development. Can we increase, exercise, stimulate creativity? Fortunately, the answer to this question is simple – YES. This is why together with the specialized team of scientists, experts and practitioners we offer a project that will result in improving this extremely important quality of personal and professional life. Not only is this project a chance for a better future for two thousand Polish children, but also it is an indirect way of increasing Poland’s innovativeness”.
