Interdisciplinary lecture by prof. M. Wodziński at the Faculty of Chemistry

On 16 May at 5 p.m. in room I BB of the Faculty of Chemistry, prof. dr hab. Marcin Wodziński will deliver a lecture as part of an interdisciplinary series entitled: „Chasydyzm. Geografia duchowości” (‘Hasidism. The geography of spirituality’).

Room I BB is located in the so-called New Auditorium, accessed from ul. Szczytnicka (opposite the Green Day buildings).

Marcin Wodziński is a professor of Jewish history and literature and head of the Chair of Jewish Studies at the University of Wrocław. His area of academic interest is Jewish social history, the history of Jews in Silesia and Jewish material culture. He is the author of numerous publications, including books: Hebrajskie inskrypcje na Śląsku XIII-XVIII w. (1996); Haskalah and Hasidism in the Kingdom of Poland (2005), Hasidism and Politics (2013), Hasidism: A New History (2017) and  Historical Atlas of Hasidism (2018).

He has been a corresponding member of the Polish Academy of Sciences since 1 January 2022 and a member of Academia Europaea since 2022.
