International XQCD Conference

The International Conference on QCD in Extreme Conditions (XQCD) will take place from 2nd to 4th July 2025. The event is organised by the Excellence in Science Incubator – Centre for Superdense Fluid Simulations at the Faculty of Physics and Astronomy.

This will be the 21st edition of this prestigious scientific conference series, dedicated to the latest research on the behaviour of strongly interacting matter under extreme temperatures and densities, as well as related topics.

The main themes of this year’s edition include:

  • Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD) at non-zero temperatures and densities;
  • Heavy-ion collision phenomenology;
  • The phase diagram of strongly interacting matter;
  • Properties of the quark–gluon plasma;
  • Neutron stars.

Invited speakers:

  • Christian Fischer (University of Giessen, Germany)
  • Matthias Kaminski (University of Alabama, USA)
  • Sanjay Reddy (INT, Seattle, USA)
  • Andreas Schmitt (University of Southampton, United Kingdom)
  • Sipaz Sharma (Technical University of Munich, Germany)
  • Leonardo Tinti (Jan Kochanowski University in Kielce, Poland)

The conference will be accompanied by workshops for PhD students who wish to deepen their understanding of the topics discussed at the event. The workshops will be held on 30th June and 1st July.
