Jubilee edition of the international scientific conference ‘Linguistische Treffen in Wrocław’ at the Institute of German Studies!

On 11-13 September 2025, the Institute of German Studies will host the 10th jubilee edition of the international scientific conference series ‘Linguistische Treffen in Wrocław’. The theme of the conference is: Quo vadis, germanistische Linguistik? – Aktuelle Fragestellungen und Forschungsfelder. The conference is organised by the Department of Applied Linguistics, the Department of German Language and the Linguistic Research Group of Germanists. The partners of the conference are the Adapa Foundation and the Atut Publishing House.

The first scientific conference in the series ‘Linguistische Treffen in Wrocław’ took place in 2006. Since then, a total of nine editions of the conference have been held, attended by over 850 scientists from 32 countries around the world!

This year’s edition of the conference will be attended by 93 researchers from 13 countries around the world. Eight plenary lectures and 69 presentations in 15 thematic sections are planned. The plenary lectures will be given by: Prof. Janusz Taborek (Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań), Prof. Georg Schuppener (St. Cyril and Methodius University in Trnava), Prof. Ernest W. B. Hess-Lüttich (Technical University of Berlin), Prof. Heinz-Helmut Lüger (University of Koblenz-Landau), Prof. Dr. Dr. h.c. Norbert Richard Wolf (University of Würzburg), Prof. Dr. Dr. Csaba Földes (University of Erfurt), Prof. Dr. Martne Dalmas (Sorbonne University) – lecture as part of the IDUB UWr visiting professorship – and Prof. Dr. Joanna Szczęk (University of Wrocław).

The papers and lectures presented during the conference will be published (after receiving positive reviews) in subsequent volumes of the journal Linguistische Treffen in Wrocław, which is edited by the staff of the Department of Applied Linguistics and the Department of German Language at the Institute of German Studies, University of Wrocław.
