KINO/TEKST conference – invitation to participate
Students from the Student Scientific Association KinoKultura, at the UWr Institute of Slavic Studies, invite you to participate in the 2nd edition of the International Student-Doctoral Scientific Conference KINO/TEKST, which will take place on 10-11 April, at the building of the Institute of Slavic Studies at ul. Pocztowa 9 in Wrocław.
The aim of the conference is to encourage young scholars interested in cinema and film studies to exchange views and read presentations that are expected to address the role of cinema in the world of art and culture. The organisers encourage topics on:
- Symbolism in film and intertextuality.
- Film as a synthesis of the arts.
- Film as a medium.
- Film criticism.
- Film adaptations of literary works.
- Linguistic aspects of language in film.
- Research into film translation. Subtitling.
- Adaptation of films for people with disabilities (audiodescription).
- Film as an image of identity.
- Influence of film on culture. Quotes and phrases enshrined in mentality.
- Film and other media in foreign language teaching.
Students and Doctoral Students wishing to participate in the conference are requested to send their application with proposals of 15-minute presentations, related to the main topic of the conference both in Polish, English and other Slavic languages to the following e-mail address: skn.kinokultura@uwr.edu.pl or via the form by 24 March.
The conference has a hybrid character.
Participation in the conference is free of charge.
