
Lecture by prof. Przemysław Chojnowski at the W. Brandt Centre
On behalf of dr Joanna Małgorzata Banachowicz from the Willy Brandt Centre for German and European Studies at the University of Wrocław, we warmly invite you to an open lecture entitled “Niemieckie debiuty. Polscy twórcy w RFN: Czesław Miłosz, Zbigniew Herbert, Tadeusz Różewicz i Wisława Szymborska”, to be delivered by prof. Przemysław Chojnowski from the University of Vienna as part of the IDUB visiting professorship programme. The lecture will take place on Tuesday, 25 November at 4:30 p.m. at the W. Brandt Centre, ul. Strażnicza 1–3 (room 13).
Bio
Professor Przemysław Chojnowski works at the Department of Slavonic Studies at the University of Vienna and at the Coordination Competence Centre for the Polish Language (KoKoPol) in St Marienthal (Saxony, Germany). He is the co-editor of numerous bilingual academic publications, including a monograph devoted to bilingual writing Liminalność i bycie pomiędzy w twórczości Petera (Piotra) Lachmanna. Studium literacko-kulturowe (Kraków 2020), as well as the editor of the extensive correspondence between Herbert and Dedecius, „Kochany Karolu, Mecenasie Ciemięzco”. Listy 1959–1994 (Warsaw 2022).
