
Lecture by Professor Ernesto Dominguez Lopez from Havana
On behalf of the Directorate of the UWr Institute of History, we cordially invite you to a lecture by Professor Ernesto Dominguez Lopez of the University of Havana, entitled “Hegemony, nation building and conflict: US Policy Toward Cuba.”
The lecture will be held on October 23 at 17:00 in the Auditorium of the Historical Institute at ul. Szewska 49.
The Cuban scholar is currently a staff member at the Centro de Estudios Hemisféricos y sobre Estados Unidos de la Universidad de La Habana (CEHSEU), and previously also served as president of the Center for European Studies in Havana.

Over the past several years, Professor Lopez has been a visiting professor at numerous universities in the United States, Latin America and Europe (including Princeton University, Columbia University, Georgia State University, University of Wisconsin-Madison, Universidad Externado de Colombia, London School of Economics and Political Sciences, University of Rostock, University of Buckingham). He has published in scientific periodicals in the UK, Germany, France and Cuba.
His research interests include US-Cuban relations, the US political system and political economy, among others. He has also conducted research in the history of international relations, migration, political theory, social science methodology and post-industrial capitalism.
