
Lectures on grant writing and publishing
The UWr Institute of Political Science and the Robert Schuman Center at the European University Institute invite you to lectures on grant application writing and publishing in foreign scientific journals.
– The lectures, which will be delivered by experts from the European University Institute (EUI) in Florence, including Prof. Erik Jones, Director of the Robert Schuman Centre, will also provide an opportunity to make valuable contacts. The lectures are intended as a prelude to establishing permanent cooperation between our university and the EUI within the framework of the ‘EUI Widening Europe’ programme, which aims to build a bridge between the EUI and national higher education institutions by offering joint activities for early career researchers, scholarship holders, senior academics and administrative staff – says dr Tomasz P. Woźniakowski of the UWr Institute of Political Science, who is coordinating the event.
The lectures will take place on the dates:
I. Thursday 27.02.2025, 13:00 -14:30 – ‘An introduction to Horizon Europe: EU funding for research and innovation’, Joanna Wielgo, project manager, EUI, Open Seminar, Place: UWr Institute of Political Science building, Aula A.
II. Friday, 28.02.2025, 14:00-15:00 ‘How to Publish in Academic Journals’, Erik Jones and Veronica Anghel, EUI, co-editors of the academic journals ‘Government and Opposition’ and ‘Journal of European Public Policy’, Open Seminar, Venue: UWr Institute of Political Science Building, Aula A. The organisers also encourage young researchers, including PhD students and undergraduates to participate in a workshop on political risk (27-28.02.2025) aimed at acquiring skills valued in the private sector by social science graduates. In addition to EUI scholars, this workshop will be attended by Preston Keat, Head of UBS Bank Headquarters in London. The programme for the event can be found on the website.
