Virtual crime scene versus reality

One of the greatest attractions of this year’s edition of the Lower Silesian Science Festival was the “Virtual crime scene versus reality” meeting, held at the Department of Forensic Sciences of the Faculty of Law, Administration and Economics, hosted by dr Rafał Cieśla and students from the Student Scientific Association of Criminalistics.

Participants of the event found out how to secure potential evidence at a mock crime scene, as well as how to collect fingerprints. They also had an opportunity to use virtual reality goggles, one of the didactic tools used during FLAE classes, and see what the security features of banknotes and documents look like under UV lamp light. The Lower Silesian Science Festival will last until September 26th (a regional edition starts in October). More information – including the full programme – can be found on the event’s website.
