I am a student of Economics on the first year of second-degree studies. I have previously completed International Relationships studies at the University of Wrocław.

What are your passions?

Thanks to my previous field of studies, I am interested in geopolitics; acquiring knowledge in economics has directed my attention towards financial markets.

Why did you decide to work in the Self-Government?

I decided to join the Self-Government because I believe that studies are not only connected to learning, but primarily to completing various projects and meeting a lot of interesting people.

What is your job in the Self-Government?

As the Head of the Board of the Student Self-Government, it is my job to direct the work of the board and chair the discussions of the Student Self-Government. I participate and offer expert advice in the meetings of the University Senate. I am also a member of the University Council. I perform the function of the main coordinator of the Wrocław Juwenalia – the only juwenalia in Wrocław free of charge.

What are your dreams regarding the functioning of the Student Self-Government?

I want all students of the University of Wrocław to have an opportunity to make full use of the wonders of a student’s life. I hope for it to be fulfilled soon due to our resuming of initiatives such as juwenalia or university rallies.

What is your job in the Self-Government?

As the Head of the Didactic Committee, I ensure the quality of education and coordinate projects conducted by the committee, e.g. series of lectures “Wybiła 17”, preparing information campaigns regarding the studies or the operating mode of the University.

What are your dreams regarding the functioning of the Student Self-Government?

My dream is for the student fraternity to be well oriented in their capabilities and to form an integrated society. On a more personal level, I want the “Wybiła 17” series of lectures to have a large turnout, as we plan on inviting very interesting people who are definitely worth listening to.

My biggest dream regarding Self-Government has already come true – nowadays, we have a big team of amazing and talented people, all of whom are willing to act for the benefit of the university environment. This, especially after the pandemic, was very important to me.

Jakub Stachurka

Jakub Stachurka – the Head of the Legal and Finance Committee

What is your field of study at the University of Wrocław?

I study Law, History and Image Communication as part of the College of Interdisciplinary Individual Studies. Studying simultaneously at the University of Wrocław’s three biggest faculties has helped me to quickly learn the rhythm of the University’s life.

What are your passions?

My biggest passion is history. With a grain of salt, I could say that I learned to read through “The Gallery of Polish Kings and Princes”. As years pass, my connection with the muse Clio remains intact. In high school, I obtained the title of a laureate in the History Olympiad. I am currently publishing my first scientific articles on pacification Sejm of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth.

I take pleasure in diving into the world of pop culture – I enjoy reading, watching, playing and creating. It’s also fun to cook, especially following the craziest recipes from random Facebook Reels.

Why did you decide to work in the Self-Government?

The flair for social activities has been a part of my life for years. In Kielce, my hometown, I was awarded the title of “the Hope of Kielce” for my social activity and academic achievements. Tangible results of my work give me great satisfaction and fuel my motivation. All of this is possible thanks to my daily activity on behalf of the Self-Government. I think it would be quite difficult for me to hang back during events and not to participate in the life of the place where I spend most of my days at.

The University itself propels me into action. I have absolutely lost my mind for the beautiful Aula Leopoldinum and Oratorium Marianum, the phenomenal library of the Institute of Polish Studies, the neo gothic style of the old library in Szajnochy. During breaks from work at the Self-GovernmentOffice, I often sit on the windowsill, accompanied by a cup of coffee, and admire the charming Mathematical Tower.

What is your job in the Self-Government?

I am a member of the Student Self-Governmentas the Head of the Legal and Finance Committee. I am also a member of the Senate of the University of Wrocław and the Head of the Board of the Student Council for the Faculty of Historical and Pedagogical Sciences. I coordinate events such as the Spring University Rally, Juwenalia Boat Party, meetings for the “Porozmawiajmy o Państwie i Prawie” cycle, as well as many other projects, of which I hope you will hear soon. The specifics of legal-finance work result in the documentation for the Student Self-Governmentcontinuously passing through my hands.

Additionally, I work on an important deal – ever since I’ve figured out the secrets of our office’s coffee express, I am very passionate about making coffee for everyone around.

What are your dreams regarding the functioning of the Student Self-Government?

All members of the Self-Governmentwork intensively for the following months to set student activity to a high bar, similar to the one from before 2020. Years later, we restore many initiatives and aim to fill our schedules with activities directed at the student community. I wish for all our efforts to bring good results and for the Student Self-Government to become the animator of the rebirth of student life.

Why did you decide to work in the Self-Government?

“Be the change you wish to see in the world” – it’s the motto that has been a part of my life for years.

I love to work with and for people, and I firmly believe in self-agency. I have chosen to work for the Self-Governmentbecause I want to create a reality and find solutions for potential problems in a way that will improve all of our lives.

What is your job in the Self-Government?

I am the Head of the Social Committee – our main job is to work on charity projects. Our flagship event is the UWrHelp+.

What are your dreams regarding the functioning of the Student Self-Government?

I think that one of the most important values of studying (excluding the knowledge obtained through courses) is active participation in University life. I want as many people as possible to take part in the initiatives we organise! I wish for a committed student community to cooperate and create amazing things.
