We are honoured to invite the students of the University of Wrocław to a meeting with the Austrian author Mareike Fallwickl, which will take place on Wednesday, 14 May 2025, at 10:15 a.m. in the Library of the Institute of German Studies, pl. Biskupa Nankiera 15, Wrocław.
About author
Mareike Fallwickl (born in 1983 in Hallein, Austria) is a writer, blogger (www.buecherwurmloch.at), commentator, and above all, a great enthusiast of literature and reading. She leads creative writing workshops for both adults and young people. Her work focuses on female narratives and feminist themes. Her second novel Dunkelgrün fast schwarz (Dark Green, Almost Black) was featured on the list of the best books of 2018 by Austria’s national broadcaster ORF and was also a finalist for the Austrian Book Prize (Österreichischer Buchpreis) in the same year. Her 2022 novel Die Wut, die bleibt (Polish edition: Wściekłość – Rage) became a bestseller in Austria and was shortlisted in 2023 for the BücherFrauen Literary Prize. That same year, a stage adaptation of the novel was presented at the Salzburg Festival and is still being performed at the Hanover City Theatre in Germany. The Polish translation by Zofia Sucharska was published by Muza S.A. under the title Wściekłość.

Mareike Fallwickl about herself: In every possible and impossible way, I try to inspire people with a passion for literature. I focus especially on feminist and queer themes. I am convinced that the time has come for voices that have gone unheard until now to finally be heard. So: let them hear us!
