Mentoring – rare moments that change everything
These were the words used by one of the Mentors, Ewa Błońska, to describe the mentoring programme run by the Academic Career Office.
This year, 126 students from the University of Wrocław from a wide range of fields including the humanities, natural sciences, and exact sciences took part in the mentoring process. It is one of the largest university mentoring programmes in Poland.
Through the programme, participants had the chance to look at their lives and career paths from a new perspective. With guidance from 54 Mentors – including academic staff from the University of Wrocław – they discovered hidden potential and learned how to overcome personal and professional barriers. The programme created a space for exchanging experiences, gaining inspiration, and engaging in meaningful conversations – but above all, for building relationships that often become the starting point for long-term transformation.
The 14th edition of the mentoring programme saw over 620 meetings – unique moments in time. It is these “rare events” – the conversations, reflections, and connections – that stay with us, shaping who we become and how we see ourselves in the world.
