Musicology students and doctoral students on expedition in Malawi

Students and doctoral students from the Institute of Musicology at the University of Wrocław under the supervision of prof. Bożena Muszkalska are currently on an expedition in Malawi. Musicology students from Vienna have been going on expeditions to Africa for many years and they form a practical part of the course programme. The idea of adding musicology students from the University of Wrocław originated during prof. August Schmidhofer’s visit to Wrocław in January 2020 as part of the Erasmus+ programme. Finally, on 2 September, a group of five students under the supervision of prof. Bożena Muszkalska arrived in Malawi. They are intensively conducting field research and collecting material to share during the three-week expedition.
