National Teachers’ Day

The University of Wrocław is the only public university in the region that trains future male and female teachers for both pre-school and early childhood education, as well as for grades 4 of primary school through to the final year of secondary school.

The basic way to obtain a teaching qualification is to complete a degree in a subject (e.g. philology, mathematics, natural sciences, etc.) and to obtain a qualification in accordance with the applicable teacher training standards.

Every year, we train future teachers for many philology, geography, history, physics, chemistry or biology subjects. We are also open to new developments. We train speech therapists and, of course, educationalists.

As always, this raises the question of how many UWr graduates who became teachers during their studies decided to go into teaching.

Thanks to the research on the fate of graduates carried out by the UWr Academic Career Service, we know that, of the graduates of the 2015 – 2018 academic years, an average of 11 per cent of the respondents declaring a job at a company or institution (and answering the question about their job position) are teachers. The position of ,,teacher‘’ is indicated most often by the respondents either as the second most common position after ,,specialist‘’, depending on the graduates’ vintage surveyed.

On the occasion of National Education Day, we wish all teachers and teacher candidates much health, perseverance, joy and satisfaction!

The project “Integrated Program for the Development of the University of Wrocław 2018-2022” co-financed by the European Union from the European Social Fund
