Natural toxins in the environment – lecture
The staff of the Institute of Geological Sciences invite you to a popular science lecture on natural toxins in the environment, which will be given by dr Adriana Trojanowska-Olichwer.
Participants will learn how various toxic substances occur in nature. – Using cyanobacterial toxins and ‘golden algae’ toxins as examples, we will analyse how they affect living organisms and try to answer the question why toxins are produced. This is a unique opportunity to explore one of the mysteries of the Earth and the Universe and understand how toxins perceived as a threat can at the same time inspire science and medicine, the organisers say.
The meeting will take place on 21 February 2025 at 3 p.m. at the Institute of Geological Sciences, at pl. M. Borna 9, room 220. You can also attend the meeting online: LINK TO MEETING
