Observatory of Young Geniuses
This coming Saturday, 8 November, a science weekend entitled “OMG – Observatory of Young Geniuses” will begin at the Astronomical Institute of the University of Wrocław.
The Observatory of Young Geniuses (OMG) project is a nationwide educational programme aimed at secondary school students, with particular focus on young people from smaller towns and rural areas. Its main goal is to support the development of interests and talents in the fields of astronomy, physics and space engineering by providing access to high-quality weekend classes. The project is inspired by the life stories of Polish scientists, more than half of whom came from smaller centres and were able to begin their scientific careers thanks to contact with universities during secondary school.
As part of OMG, five weekend sessions are planned at selected academic centres across Poland. One of them, taking place on 8–9 November, will be hosted by the Astronomical Institute of the University of Wrocław.
More information about the project is available on the website.
