On chromosome dynamics in Szklarska Poręba
A scientific conference organised under the auspices of the European Molecular Biology Organisation (EMBO) entitled ‘DNA Topology and Topoisomerases in Genome Dynamics’ has concluded in Szklarska Poręba.
The meeting was attended by nearly 120 scientists from Europe, the United States, Canada, India and China. Over 90% of participants were guests from abroad. The programme included over 40 oral presentations and over 60 posters. Participants presented the latest research results on chromosome organisation and dynamics, structural and functional analyses of enzymes controlling DNA topology, and the search for new drugs targeting these processes.
The main organiser of the event was prof. Dagmara Jakimowicz, and one of the co-organisers was dr Marcin Szafran from the Faculty of Biotechnology at the University of Wrocław. The conference was financially supported by the University of Wrocław and the Faculty of Biotechnology.
