On the anniversary of the murder of Lviv professors
On Tuesday, 4 July, a ceremony was held at the Monument to the Martyrdom of Lviv Professors to commemorate the 82nd anniversary of the murder.
On 4 July 1941 in Lviv, the Nazis arrested and then executed a group of 45 professors and members of their families. In doing so, they implemented the Nazi policy of eliminating the Polish intelligentsia.
At the Monument to the Martyrdom of the Professors of Lwów, flowers were laid by representatives of state authorities, local authorities, and Wrocław universities, including the rector of Wrocław University, Prof. Robert Olkiewicz. Representatives of schools, associations and institutions also took part in the event.
A company of honour from the Tadeusz Kościuszko Military Academy in Wrocław paid tribute to the fallen.
