On women at the UWr Faculty of Chemistry
On Sunday, March 8th, the Faculty of Chemistry at the University of Wrocław hosted a unique event titled “Women in science – the power of knowledge,” dedicated to the role and presence of women in the world of academia.
The meeting was co-organized by the Wrocław Academic Center (WCA), the Academy of Young Scholars and Artists (Akademia Młodych Uczonych i Artystów – AMUiA), and the Wrocław Scientific Society, under the patronage of the Wrocław Women’s Council and the Lower Silesian Women’s Council, with Radio Luz serving as the media patron.
The event provided an opportunity for an inspiring discussion on the identity, experiences, and challenges faced by women in science. The program was enriched by chemistry workshops for children and an exhibition prepared by staff and doctoral students of the Eugeniusz Geppert Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław (available for the next two weeks at the UWr Faculty of Chemistry). The occasion also featured an outstanding musical setting, including the premiere of a piece by Adam Porębski, performed by Michał Bień (cello) and performers from the Academy of Young Scholars and Artists affiliated with the Karol Lipiński Academy of Music in Wrocław.
