Join us for an open lecture as part of the IDUB programme. The lecture, titled „Research meets practice: Building collaborative partnerships in second language classrooms” (Gdy badania spotykają się z praktyką: budowanie partnerskiej współpracy na zajęciach języka obcego) will be given by Prof. Andrew Lee from Laval University in Canada.
Andrew Lee (PhD, McGill University) is an associate professor in the Department of Languages, Linguistics and Translation at Laval University (Quebec, Canada). His research focuses on foreign language teaching, with particular emphasis on the impact of different teaching conditions and individual student differences. In addition, he is interested in research methodology, in particular, cooperation between researchers and foreign language teachers.
The speaker will discuss the challenges of cooperation between researchers and practitioners of second language teaching, presenting solutions developed within partnership projects in which he was directly involved. Attendees will gain an in-depth understanding of the key role of foreign language teaching based on scientific research results, learn about strategies for building lasting and mutually beneficial partnerships, and discover a practical model of researcher-practitioner cooperation that benefits all parties involved in research and practise in the field of foreign language teaching.
The lecture will take place on 19 March from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in room 208 of the Institute of English Studies building at ul. Kuźnicza 22.
