Ossolineum and the University want to unite publishing forces

On 14 November, in the main building of the Library of the University of Wrocław, the Vice-Rector for research of the University of Wrocław, prof. Artur Błażejewski and the Director of the Ossoliński National Institute, dr Łukasz Kamiński signed a letter of intent to carry out joint publishing projects.

It is extremely important for the University of Wrocław and the Ossolineum National Institute to carry out joint scientific and popular science publishing projects concerning Central Europe and to promote mutual understanding between the countries of the region.

In the field of publishing, the Ossolineum and the University of Wrocław are already working together, and the latest result of this cooperation is the “Leopoldina Wratislaviensia”, the first issue of which was published this year on the initiative of the Honorary Consul of Austria dr Edward Wąsiewicz and prof. Edward Białek, a German philologist from the University of Wrocław.

– We would like to have many more publications – vice-rector prof. Artur Blażejewski emphasised.

The meeting was also attended by dr Edward Wąsiewicz, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Austria, known for his activities for Central European cooperation. Dr Wąsiewicz will be honoured by the Collegium of Rectors of Wrocław and Opole Universities with the annual prof. Józef Dudek Award on Wednesday, 15 November 2023, during the Feast of Science.
