Ossolineum Prize for Poetic Translation 2024
The Ossolineum invites poetry publishers to submit translations of poetry volumes into Polish published between 1 January 2023 and 1 May 2024. The first edition of the Prize is linked to the celebration of the Year of the Silesian Angel in Wrocław and aims to promote literary translations of foreign poetry into Polish.
A prize of PLN 10 000 will be awarded to the translator, while the publisher will be presented with a commemorative statuette.
The prize will be decided by a chapter appointed by the Director of the Ossoline National Institute. The deadline for receiving applications is 30 July 2024.
The application form and regulations are available on the Ossolineum website. Submissions must be accompanied by 2 paper copies of the publication and an electronic version or 8 paper copies of the publication.
One paper copy will be donated to the resources of the Ossolineum National Library. Submissions and an electronic version of the publication should be sent to: nagroda@ossolineum.pl.
Hard copies of the submitted publication must be delivered by the same date to the following address:
ul. Szewska 37, 50-139 Wrocła, marked „Nagroda za przekład” (date of postage is decisive).
The prize will be presented by the Director of the Ossoliński National Institute during the gala event of the Angelus Central European Literature Prize and the Silesius Wrocław Poetry Prize organised by Wrocław House of Literature on 17 October 2024.
