Our expert in the forest conservation group

The Ministry of Climate and Environment Republic of Poland established a group for reinforcing the preservation of naturally valuable, and socially significant forests. The group includes prof. Krzysztof Świerkosz, an expert on nature conservation and geobotany.

The expert group is a support unit for the minister, and its members will prepare a list of naturally and socially valuable forests to be included in the restrictions or logging bans. Its responsibility is to develop recommendations for reinforcing forest conservation, including ways to manage forests in designated areas.

According to naturalists, this is a step toward the systemic protection of Poland’s most valuable forests.

The first formal meeting of the forest conservation group is scheduled for Wednesday, February 14. We are certain that the Professor’s vast knowledge and experience will be of great help in conservation work! Congratulations!

Dr hab. Krzysztof Świerkosz, professor of University of Wrocław from the Faculty of Biological Sciences is the author of over 300 scientific and popular-science publications on geobotany and nature conservation. In addition, he acts as a curator at the Herbarium in Wrocław.
