Our fields of study with a certificate of excellence!
We are pleased to announce that two of our fields of study have been awarded a certificate in Doskonały kierunek − doskonałość w kształceniu na kierunku category, and these are: first- and second-cycle computer science and individual first-cycle computer science and mathematics studies. Congratulations to the lecturers, students and graduates!
For the first time, the Polish Accreditation Committee has awarded certificates of educational excellence to our fields of study. They are awarded on the basis of a positive curricular evaluation for six years, supported by good practice in the quality of education or documented, regular achievements of students and graduates.
– We are very pleased with both awards – says dean Tomasz Jurdziński. – The Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science community puts a lot of effort into providing students with the best possible conditions for studying. We are proud of the numerous successes they achieved during their studies and the course of their professional careers. The awarding of certificates is another confirmation of the high quality of our studies; recently we were pleased with the results of the study of the Economic Fate of Graduates according to which graduates of computer science at the University of Wrocław earn the highest salaries among graduates of all full-time fields of study at all universities in Poland in the first year after graduation. It is worth recalling that the mathematics, assessed in previous years, also has a distinctive rating.
The assessment takes into account, inter alia, the design of the study programme (concept, learning objectives and learning outcomes), the implementation of the study programme (curriculum content, timetable for the implementation of the study programme and the forms and organisation of classes, teaching methods, professional practice, organisation of the teaching and learning process), recruitment to the study programme, verification of the achievement of learning outcomes by students, completion of individual semesters and years, as well as graduation and competence, experience, qualifications and size of the teaching staff. Not insignificant is the infrastructure and educational resources used in the implementation of the study programme and their improvement, quality policy, design, approval, monitoring, review and improvement of the study programme.
