Our museums featured in a film catalogue of University museums
Four museums of the University of Wrocław have been included among 50 university museums in Poland showcased in promotional films produced as part of the project by the Association of University Museums entitled „Dziedzictwo nauki. Zbiory uczelniane i rozwój społeczności lokalnych” (eng. The Heritage of Science: University Collections and the Development of Local Communities). These are the Henryk Teisseyre Geological Museum, the Kazimierz Maślankiewicz Mineralogical Museum, the Museum of Natural History and the Museum of the University of Wrocław. In addition to these, the UWr Botanical Garden was also featured in the project. The films have been produced since 2023 and now form a catalogue of university museums. We invite you to explore it on the website of the Association of University Museums.
The project “Dziedzictwo nauki. Zbiory uczelniane i rozwój społeczności lokalnych“ raises public awareness of the significance of Polish scientific history and academic heritage as vital markers of national identity and cultural legacy. It offered an excellent opportunity to become acquainted with research on Polish national heritage and the achievements of outstanding Polish figures, including their scientific contributions, work, and discoveries. The fifty films created within the framework of the project present academic heritage across Polish cities. The films were produced in university museums in Białystok, Bydgoszcz, Gdańsk, Kraków, Lublin, Łódź, Opole, Poznań, Szczecin, Warsaw and Wrocław.
We encourage you to watch the films dedicated to our museums and the Botanical Garden, and to download the brochure with a map “Wrocław on the Trail of Academic Heritage,” an initiative by university museum curators. This publication presents 12 academic museums of Wrocław and is available (as a PDF file) on the website of the Association of University Museums.
